The concept TVS Akula 310 that was first revealed at the Automobile Expo in Delhi finally has a release date. According to India.com, TVS Motors has confirmed that the stylish looking motorcycle will be launched in India in February or March 2017.
SG Murali, CFO - TVS Motor shared the news with the media, "In February or March 2017 we will launch the first product (from the TVS-BMW coupling)." In fact, this draw for now includes only one motorcycle And that is the Akula 310, which also shares support with the BMW G 310 R.
The Akula will come with a couple of firsts for the TVS brand. It would be the first TVS motorcycle that comes with full fairing and bodywork. It is also expected to have a higher price in the range of Rs 2 lakhs. Since it is a concept motorcycle that is now aimed at production, TVS can sell it under the existing Apache brand.
The bike is based on the BMW G 310 R and takes much of it thanks to the TVS-BMW connection. It will be manufactured in the Hosur plant of TVS, which is also being shared by BMW for its offer of BMW G 310 R.
