Facebook is testing a disgusting button in Messenger, user reports

Facebook is finally making it easier for you to express your discontent. That's right, folks: instead of going on a rant on your favorite social media platform, simply hit the aversion button instead. According to a new TechCrunch report, Facebook is testing its highly requested feature, although it may not be where you expect it to be.

According to a tip from technology blogger Hoan Do, Facebook Messenger seems to be testing several Reactions in its popular messaging application. Just like in Apple's iMessage, if you hover over a message, you'll see an emoji button that includes options like thumbs-up Like, thumb down Dislike and several other emoji faces. And just like in the Slack group messaging application, everyone in the chat will see the reaction as it refers to a specific message, and if multiple people have the Like, Dislike, or give you an "lol" emoji, you can see A complete list Of the people who reacted.

"We're always trying out ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging," Facebook told TechCrunch in a statement. "This is a small test in which we allow people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings in a message." So while you may not have the option to add these reactions in Messenger right now, if the initial group of testers give you thumbs up, you may be rolling out the whole community of billions of Facebook soon.

Although Facebook has long resisted the addition of a Dislike button to avoid too much negativity (especially in News Feed), it seems that the social network is now seeing the notion of a thumb down as more of a "no". TechCrunch, because Messenger is often used to plan events, this new set of reactions could make things a little more efficient, almost serving as a real-time survey.
