Chinese smartphone maker Vivo today launched another self-centered smartphone called V5s. Although said to be a successor to V5 last year, the new phone comes with almost similar hardware.
The Vivo V5s gets a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) resolution screen protected with Gorilla Glass 5. The V5 had a screen of similar size 720p. Inside, it gets the same MediaTek MT6750 octa-core 64-bit processor with a speed of 1.5 GHz along with a Mali T860 GPU. While the RAM is again 4GB of RAM the internal storage has been hit up to 64GB. Of course, there is a memory expansion slot that supports microSD cards up to 256GB. The only change of the V5 Vivo is that V5s will come with a metal body.
As for the cameras, you get the same 13MP sensor with phase detection and LED flash on the back and a 20 MP camera module on the front along with 'Moonlight' flash to take selfies. Other features include a built-in fingerprint scanner on the home button, a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charge support, and a "split intelligent 2.0" hi-fi audio system powered by an AK4376 audio chip.
The smartphone's connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, OTG support, microUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device will run Android Marshmallow based Funtouch OS 3.0. Vivo will offer two months of free subscription to Saavn Pro with Vivo V5s.
Vivo V5s will come in two color variants with the first in 'Matte Black' and the second in 'Crown Gold'. The smartphone is priced at 18,990 rupees and the variant "Matte Black" will be available from May 6, 2017 with 'Crown Gold' will be available from May 20, 2017. Vivo has begun taking pre-orders For the device as of today.
