Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ got 80,0rders in00 Pre-o India

As a sigh of relief for Samsung after the fiasco of note 7 last year, pre-orders for its new Galaxy S8 and S8 + devices reach 80,000 units within a week after launch in India.

"Pre-orders are expected to reach 150,000 units by the end of this month," IANS industry sources said.

Equipped with a voice assistant, the Galaxy S8 5.8-inch and the Galaxy S8 + 6.2-inch were listed on a pre-order Flipkart banner, beginning April 19.

According to sources, the company saw 15 times more traffic than usual at Samsung e-store which led to a temporary downtime.

The pre-booking saw more than four times the pre-booking compared to the previous Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices.

Early delivery for pre-booking customers will start on May 2 and due to high demand for black variants, the delivery date of these devices will start on May 12.

Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President of Mobile Business, Samsung India, told IANS: "We are overwhelmed with the response we have received for our iconic Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +." A special thank you to customers for such a magnificent response. Confident that S8 and S8 + will further boost our growth and we will be able to sustain and strengthen our position in India. "

Set to give Apple iPhones a stiff competition, Samsung launched the devices with a voice assistant called Bixby.

The S8 and S8 + devices with significantly larger screens, with a redesigned design with rounded edges and symmetrical sides, make them compact and comfortable for a single hand, with a value of 57,900 and Rs 64,900.

The "Infinity Display" and the bevelled design give a user 18 percent more screen without buttons. The physical start button on the front has given way to a more intuitive programmable key with a pressure sensor that is embedded under the screen.

For security, the company introduced an iris scanner, which is one of the safest biometric identification systems on a phone.

Samsung S8 and S8 + have 12 MP rear cameras with multi-frame processing and optical image stabilization and front-facing 8MP autofocus triggers. Devices run on Android Nougat 7.0. While S8 has a battery of 3000 mAh, the S8 + comes with a battery of 3,500 mAh.
