Pokemon Go just introduced its next wave of new monsters

When Pokémon Go first set the mobile phone market this summer, the AR-powered title only connected to the original Pokémon lot of Pokémon Red & Blue in 1996.

After joking more pocket freaks would in fact be coming to the game, developer Niantic Labs has finally unveiled its next wave of gotta catch 'em all creatures.

From today, Go-ers Pokémon can incubate to the select second generation Pokémon of the series -a.k.a. The ones found in Pokemon Gold & Silver 1999, in case of being the nostalgic type.

Two of the new mons revealed so far are Johto region juniors Togepi and Pichu. Niantic says that more second-generation Pokémon will come to the increased world "in the coming months." (C'moonnn, Cyndaquil!)

For that extra "aww" factor, Niantic also revealed that from now until December 29, Coaches around the world can venture out and get a limited edition Pikachu.

What makes this Pika so special? Well, the iconic electric mouse is wearing a cute lil Santa hat to commemorate the holidays, that's why!

Seriously, look! It is adorable.
